Looking forward

As January flies by it's time for us to start looking forward to all the awesome events we will be planning for this Spring!

Over the years we have held many, many different events at the Comfort Zone, from Hawaiian-themed evenings where we served up Kona coffee, to bridal showers, to Wine Pairing dinners - but a few have really stood out as customer favorites.

As many people know, anytime you organize an event it takes TONS of time and effort to do properly and every new idea you run with is always exciting, but nerve-racking at the same time.

I think over the past few years we've found a few great events that people can get excited about with us, and those are the ones that will be reappearing Spring 2013!

First: Our Comfort Zone Tasting Event - penciled in for March 10th.

One price for an all-you-can-eat and drink dinner event. We bring you a sampling of food and beverage from our menu so that you can try a little bit of everything - no need to decide! We even take requests, always wondered what an Emerald Champagne tasted like? Well wonder no more, we'll make one and let everyone sample it!

Next up: The "Always a Bridesmaid, Never the Bride" fun-raising Event - penciled in for April 20th

This one is one of my favorites because it's a BLAST and it raises money for a wonderful cause, the Kathleen Mary House (if you don't know what this is, please visit the link and learn about it). With prizes for the Best Dressed, Worst Dressed, and Ugliest Tie you're sure to find some great outfits at this party :) We serve up a family style dinner and have a professional DJ for the post-dinner fun. Not to mention 40+ baskets donated by local companies and families for a huge Chinese Auction!

May: Hamburg Bites Progressive Dinner - penciled in for May 16th

If you haven't gone to one of the VBAC Hamburg Bites Progressive Dinners - this is your chance to check it out! One price, 4 courses, and a beverage at your choice of 7-10 different locally owned and operated restaurants! Mom and I work with Denise from Main Street Ice Cream to plan this event for the VBAC - we've had great response from it the last 3 times, so we're hoping to making it better than ever this time around!

June: Wine Pairing Dinner with Ten Thousand Vines

We haven't confirmed a date with owner and chief bottle washer yet but we are hoping to reprise this event this year. Last years event sold out and everyone had a great time. We whip up several courses, including soups, salads, paninis, and a dessert and Mike from Ten Thousand Vines pairs our food with the appropriate wine from his store!

That about covers it for now, but I'll keep you updated as the season progresses and we get definitive dates for these events!  Let us know what you think? Would you like to attend any of these events? Have you attended any in the past that you would be willing to share your experiences with?

Lastly, I have a special ask for anyone out there with an idea - I would like to do a Beer Pairing Dinner sometime this year. Does anyone know a brewery that may be able to help us put an event together!?

Leave your answers in the comment box below, we would really LOVE to hear from you! ~Zenia
