VBAC Pumpkin Dessert Contest
Who knew that Hamburg had so many talented bakers?! The Pumpkin Dessert Contest held on October 19th and 20th, 2012 brought in 22 delicious entries that kept our panel of judges wanting more. We took in entries all day on Friday and our judges had the tough job of tasting each one that evening.
They based their scores on a scale of 1-10 in three categories: Taste, Presentation, and Creativity. Prizes for those three categories and the highest overall score were awarded on Friday night.
On Saturday afternoon the Comfort Zone team laid all the entries out on tables for the public to taste! We sold samples and allowed people to choose which they'd like to try. Each sample purchase got earned on "vote" for the crowd favorite, which was determined at 5pm that night. Everyone who attended the sampling enjoyed the variety of desserts, from cannolis, to whoopie pies, cakes, cheesecakes, and brownies!
Overall the event was a huge success thanks to our many participants, the sponsors: Hamburg VBAC, Anytime Fitness, Ten Thousand Vines, Ganey Real Estate, Comfort Zone Cafe, and Prima Oliva, and the public who came to help us eat up all the desserts!

Most Creative: Jimmie's Pizza and Village Sweet Shoppe for their Pizza and Wings, won a gift certificate to Prima Oliva
Best Presentation: Dee Meyer for her Pumpkin Tiramisu, won a month membership to Anytime Fitness
Best Taste: Linda Schooley for her Pumpkin Squares, won a gift certificate to Ten Thousand Vines
Crowd Favorite: Sarah Beaudoin and William for their Super moist Scooby-Do Brownies, won a Sony DVD player (donated by one of our sponsors, Ganey Real Estate).
Highest Overall Points: Dee Meyer for her Double Pumpkin Pizzelle Cannoli, won $100 cash!
